LCA’s Fur- Free Friday 2006!

This year marked LCA's 18th annual Fur-Free Friday – and one of the biggest in 10 years! Approximately 120 protesters attended the grassroots event in Beverly Hills, CA, to spread the message that people should not wear or buy fur!

We marched through the streets of Beverly Hills visiting about 30 fur stores on the famous Rodeo Drive. LCA's Animal News Van accompanied marchers and educated onlookers by playing video footage about the horrors of the fur trade.

The police were on hand to make sure everything went smoothly and no arrests were made. It was a very peaceful protest! After the march, the police officers spoke to LCA President Chris DeRose. They told Chris how much they respect what he does and thanked him for being so cooperative with the Beverly Hills police. They look forward to working with him next year for Fur-Free Friday 2007!
