LCA’s Fur- Free Friday
2005!

Approximately 80-100 activists gathered in Beverly Hills on November 25th to participate in Fur-Free Friday 2005, an event that takes place every year the Friday after Thanksgiving -- the busiest shopping day of the year.
Passing motorists and pedestrians, including Mike Tyson, honked and applauded in support as demonstrators marched along Rodeo Drive. The majority of the 29 fur stores along the famous shopping district were visited, including Sompers, Dior, Armani, Dolce Gabbana, and Neiman Marcus. Customers and employees of these stores felt the heat as one activist led protesters in chants and another described the atrocities inflicted upon fur-bearing animals. Amplified sound assured that our message was heard far and wide!

Comments: “The Animals Need Their Fur More Than We Do”
Please join ARFF on the busiest shopping day of the year as we protest the cruelty of the fur trade. Fur Free Friday, held the day after Thanksgiving, is a national day of action against an industry that kills milllions of animals each year.
Palm Beach's Worth Avenue has several retailers that sell fur and fur trim, including Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Giorgio Armani, and Valentino.
ARFF's demonstration will be a silent vigil. Please dress in black. Out of respect for the animals who have lost their lives to the fur trade, we will refrain from speaking during the one-hour demonstration. We urge you to remain silent, serious and focused.
Donate your fur. ARFF will have a drop box at the demonstration to collect fur and fur-trimmed garments for donation to wildlife rehabilitators, who use the furs to provide warmth and comfort for the injured or orphaned animals under their care.
